What makes us different?
Our Story
The girls’ football school SSB Mutiara Timur was founded in October 2024 by UEFA B+ licensed football coach Heidi Scheunemann, who has been coaching teenage girls in Papua since 2009.
Establishing SSB Mutiara Timur in Papua marked the first important step toward our holistic development program, which now provides high-quality football coaching, school education, life skills training, and character development opportunities for several highly talented female footballers from Papua—within a safe and supportive academy environment in Malang, East Java, since June 2025.
The non-profit organization Yayasan Sekolah Sepak Bola Mutiara Timur was officially registered as a foundation on February 12, 2025. Our goal is to help outstanding young football talents reach their full potential as future leaders—both on and off the pitch.
Our Values
Everyone in our foundation, SSB Mutiara Timur, is committed to the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of our girls. We are dedicated to supporting our players in developing respectful, honest, reliable, confident, and trustworthy character traits over the long term.
We love and respect each of our female players, regardless of their family background, ethnicity, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
Our mission is to help teenage girls grow into confident, creative women who can one day bless their families and communities with the skills and knowledge they gain through SSB Mutiara Timur’s holistic development program.
Our Mission
Our girls are all talented in different ways but have not yet been given the opportunity to showcase their abilities to the public. We support them by providing chances to play in tournaments and are actively seeking sponsors who are willing to help fund scholarships for their future education, enabling them to achieve their goals.
We are looking for intrinsically motivated talents who have not yet received support but are eager to work hard, develop their skills and character, and benefit from high-quality coaching and mentoring.
Our Project
In Waena, Jayapura, Papua, we offer regular football and futsal training for talented girls in the U-14 and U-16 age groups.
Girls who pass the selection process will be offered the opportunity to receive a scholarship for their middle or high school education in Malang, East Java, where they will stay with loving and caring dorm parents.
In Java, the girls will receive coaching from licensed coaches and have the opportunity to participate in various football and futsal tournaments, where they can showcase their talent.
In June 2025, we launched a development program for talented young female football players from Papua and brought five players to the island of Java. In July 2025, three of them began middle school, while two continued their high school education. One of the girls is already playing for the Indonesian U-16 National Team.
Future plan
In 2026, we hope to support more talented female football players in coming to Malang to join our academy. Would you be willing to help by contributing to their education?
